Biography

A resident planter, nephew of Colin Macrae (q.v.), and author of A Manual of Plantership in British Guiana (1856), dying at Southampton in 1860. 聽

  1. He registered enslaved people in 1834, and in 1845 was described as the attorney of the partners in John Campbell Senior & Co.

  2. The Alexander C. Macrae in the 1881 census aged 64, born Demerara 'Physician Edinboro', living at 119 Westbourne 聽[Road?] with his wife Louisa (born in Calcutta) was the son of Colin Macrae (q.v.) and the cousin of Alexander MacRae of this entry. 聽
