A resident planter, nephew of Colin Macrae (q.v.), and author of A Manual of Plantership in British Guiana (1856), dying at Southampton in 1860.  

1. He registered enslaved people in 1834, and in 1845 was described as the attorney of the partners in John Campbell Senior & Co.

2. The Alexander C. Macrae in the 1881 census aged 64, born Demerara 'Physician Edinboro', living at 119 Westbourne  [Road?] with his wife Louisa (born in Calcutta) was the son of Colin Macrae (q.v.) and the cousin of Alexander MacRae of this entry.
