Biography

Son of William Pretyman and Charlotte Green. 聽Married Elizabeth Eccleston (c. 1782-1865), whose sister Frances (1772-1839) married Charles Bartrum (1760-1827, son of Charles Bartrum and Esther Lucas). 聽Daniel Green Pretyman was thus the uncle of his partner Thomas Reynolds Bartrum (q.v.). 聽A brother of Elizabeth and Frances, like them born in Gravesend, was reportedly called Anthony Calvert (James) Eccleston, suggesting a possible slave-trade connection.

  2. Marriage to Elizabeth Eccleston 29/01/1813 St Mary Newington (Charles Bartrum was one of the witnesses); and registration of death confirmed Q1 1858 Chertsey Surrey
