1871 census shows George Harriott Wardale 'Chief Clerk in a manufactory' aged 64 born Jamaica living at 12 Stonebridge Villas Lewisham with his wife Eliza also aged 64 and two daughters Ann Eliza 23 and Lucy '10' [sic: either she was older or she was a grand-daughter]; death of George Harriott Wardale aged 71 registered Q1 1878 Lewisham; will of George Harriott Wardale late of 12 Stonebridge Villas proved 23/03/1878, effects under 拢2000. 聽Geo. Harriott Wardale & co., Italian warehousemen 15 Garlick Hill.
A group of enslaved people were registered by George Harriott in 1832 as executor of George Steven [or Stovin] Wardale: for a number of those on the list a note says 'Returned by George Harriott Wardale... By heirship'.
