Biography

Partner in Messrs. Alexander & Co, Ipswich bankers, unsuccessfully counterclaimed as assignee of an annuity of 拢200 on New Montpelier Estate in St James, Jamaica with his brother Dykes Alexander junior and his nephew Henry Alexander (both q.v.).

  1. Born 16/06/1773 in Needham Market, Suffolk, the son of Dykes Alexander senior and his wife Martha n茅e Biddle, who were both part of a network of East Anglian Quaker banking families. Married Rebecca Biddle in 1805. Bought Goldrood House in Suffolk in 1809. They had 12 children. Died 03/05/1838 in Ipswich.
