According to an email from Jean Mackenzie of 9 Nov 2010:
John Dingwall is the brother of D. (Donald) Dingwall (ID: 21980) of Clarendon claims 84, 385, 385, the brothers having left the town of Dingwall in Ross & Cromarty around 1799. They became overseers and later slave-owners in Jamaica, mainly in Vere and Clarendon. Mackenzie says Jamaica Almanacs of the period corroborate this. A third brother, Roderick Dingwall, was an overseer on the Coley estate in St Thomas-in-the-East, owned by William Davidson of Tulloch, though Roderick seems never to have owned slaves himself.
