Biography

Slave-owner on St Kitts, but in London when he made his will in 1764.

  1. Will of George Leigh of St Marylebone [made 31/10/1764] proved 22/01/1766. In the will he placed his unnamed estates and enslaved people in St Kitts in trust to support annuities of 拢350 p.a. for his wife Anna Maria, 拢200 p.a. for his son Charles and 拢30 p.a. for his sister [presumably half-sister] Catherine Hammond spinster. He left his wife also half the residual profits of his St Kitts's estates unless he remarried, in which case she would receive an annuity of 拢500 p.a. in total.
