Charles Long

Biography

Second son of Samuel Long (1700-1758) and his wife Mary nee Tate. Younger brother of Robert (1729-1772) and older brother of Edward (1734-1813). Died c. 1757.

Charles Long of St Catherine, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1757. Slave-ownership at probate: 66 of whom 26 were listed as male and 40 as female. 4 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: 拢3273 Jamaican currency of which 拢2815 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included 拢0 currency cash, 拢0 currency debts and 拢0 currency plate.
