Mary Augier, born into slavery and manumitted under the will of her late father John Augier (d. 1722, a white planter). Sister of Susannah, Jane and Elizabeth Augier (all q.v.). A Private Act of Assembly in 1747 gave 'the same rights and privileges with English Subjects, born of white parents' to Mary's children William, Elizabeth, Jane and Eleanor (whose father was William Tyndall, a Kingston merchant). Her daughter Elizabeth had nine children with John Morse (q.v.).

Mary Augier of Kingston, spinster. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1764. Slave-ownership at probate: 14 of whom 7 were listed as male and 7 as female. 4 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £3294.93 Jamaican currency of which £850 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £2477.96 currency debts and £74.25 currency plate.
