Gerrard Halsted, eldest son of John Halsted of St Dorothy (died c. 1721) and his wife Elizabeth. Baptised in St Catherine, Jamaica, 16/11/1697. Attended Mr Hall's school in Chelsea. Admitted as a pensioner to Trinity College, Cambridge, 16/08/1715, age 17. Father of Gerrard John Halsted (born c. 1721). Husband of Barbara Ermin (widow of Chelsea in 1725).
