Biography

Owner of Mount Pleasant in St Ann, Jamaica. An absentee from at least 1778. Tentatively identified by LBS as William Edwards of Bruges (1746-1823), although in 1795 the estate was shown as owned by William Edwards junior (possibly William Frederic or Frederick Edwards, q.v.).

Probably the same William Edwards who contributed 拢20 to the University of Pennsylvania following Dr John Morgan's fundraising tour of the West Indies in 1772-1773.
