Merchant of Kingston, partner with Samuel Delpratt I (q.v.) and Richard Clark. Reportedly died in 1777 leaving an estate worth £147,294 sterling, mostly in debts owed to him.

1. Edward Ford [sic] contributed £25 to the University of Pennsylvania following Dr John Morgan's fundraising tour of the West Indies in 1772-1773.

2. The will of Edward Foord is summarised in Caribbeana Vol. III. He left £4000 to Samuel Delpratt and then £1000 to Delpratt's wife (Foord's sister) Martha with the other £3000 in trust for her life and then the principal to be willed by her. He left £3000 each to his sisters Elizabeth Howe [in fact How] and Mary Foord, and made lesser provision for a natural family in Jamaica. His residuary heir was Samuel Delpratt [I].

3. Edward Foord of Kingston, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1777. Slave-ownership at probate: 69 of whom 51 were listed as male and 18 as female. 11 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £206210.76 Jamaican currency of which £3943.32 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £78.92 currency cash, £199749.97 currency debts and £222.43 currency plate.
