William Mackinen or Mackinnon of Antigua

Biography

Slave-owner on Antigua, dying at Bath in 1767, father of William Mackinnon senior and great-grandfather of William Alexander Mackninnon (both of whom q.v.).

  1. Administration of the will of William Mackinen [sic] of Antigua [made in 1752] granted 29/01/1770. He confirmed the unspecified marriage settlement he had agreed for his daughter Elizabeth with Dr Thomas Fraser, and left the remainder of his estate after monetary legacies of 拢100 each to several relatives, to his son William. In a codicil of 1762 he left 拢1000 each to his four grandchildren, the children of Elizabeth Fraser.
