Owner of 418 acres and 184 enslaved people in St Andrew, Jamaica, in 1753.
Edmund Hyde was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 404 acres of land in St Andrew.
Edmund Hyde was one of the executors of Hanbury Saunders (Sanders?) Pestell (q.v.) who died c. 1748. Pestell's estate was subject to a Chancery case and Hyde lodged a petition with the Privy Council regarding the case in 1761.
Edmond Hyde of St Andrew, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1764. Slave-ownership at probate: 267 of whom 137 were listed as male and 130 as female. 87 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: 拢14892.99 Jamaican currency of which 拢11393 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included 拢249.34 currency cash, 拢0 currency debts and 拢315 currency plate.
