Biography

Bristol slave-captain and then slave-trader, with 8 voyages as captain from Bristol 1749-1765 (mostly for James LaRoche) with one possible further voyage from London in 1747 as captain, and five as owner from Bristol (one with James LaRoche) 1767-1775.

  1. Will of David Duncomb late mariner of Bristol Gloucestershire [but now and for some time past residing at home] proved 08/02/1796. He left 拢500 to his daughter Mary Seward, 拢400 to his daughter Elizabeth Tinker, and 拢800 to his son Benjamin. He had he said advanced 拢1000 to his son David on the latter's entering into partnership with Bright, Millward.
