Biography

  1. Col. Jonathan Gale of Fullerswood, Custos of St Elizabeth. Member of Assembly for St Elizabeth, 1709 and 1711 and for Westmoreland 1721, 1722, 1725 and 1727. Died (Black River Church) 1727.

  2. Jonathan Gale of St Elizabeth, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1727. Slave-ownership at probate: 606 of whom 363 were listed as male and 243 as female. 126 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: 拢38,816.63 Jamaican currency of which 拢17,549.5 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included 拢0 currency cash, 拢7,850.97 currency debts and 拢196.58 currency plate.
