CEL Response to the IoD consultation on the Code of Conduct for Directors

Summary

This paper responds to the Institute of Directors’ consultation on the Code of Conduct for Directors.   The response supports the IoD’s vision of improving business culture and restoring public trust, whilst setting out several areas for further consideration.  In particular, the response argues that the purpose and governance role of the Code must be clarified, whilst identifying several areas of potential legal risk.
