¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Laws mooting teams compete in Featherstone Moot Competition

Two teams from ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Laws have participated very successfully in the LSE-Featherstone Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Moot 22-23 February 2019.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Laws students compete in Featherstone Mooting Competition

Both ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº teams were selected for the oral stage of the competition, based on their written skeletons. Both teams won their two oral rounds on Friday and Saturday. Based on their scores in these rounds, Team 34 came 11th in the competition and narrowly missed out on the quarter finals. Team 35 won the quarter-final round, ultimately making the last four teams in the semi-final.

The two ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº teams were:

Team 35: Olivia Bisson-Simmonds; Maria Ferarri; Yi (Jean) Jin; Niki Hadjivasiliou, who are all LLM students.

ÌýTeam 34: Robert Shu; Yan Lai; Ellen Chan; Evan Brewster

Special recognition goes to Olivia and Maria, who won the Spirit of the Competition Award.

The two teams were coached by Dr Sinéad Agnew, Lecturer in Property Law at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Laws; and Dr Niamh Connolly, Lecturer at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Laws.

is dedicated to the consideration of areas of sexual orientation and gender identity law, held at the London School of Economics. Alongside the associated networking event, it brings bring together LGBT and ally students, campaigners, practitioners, and members of the judiciary.
