, Professor of Law at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Faculty of Laws, has won   Best Paper Prize for her paper ‘Knowledge of landscape in wind energy planning’.

Presented during the Environmental Law section of the SLS 2016 Annual Conference held in Oxford from 6-9 September 2016, the paper explores the ways in which the planning system receives different knowledge claims and validates some of them, discussing the ways in which legal processes shape those knowledge practices. Knowledge claims about the ways in which large wind farm developments will affect valued ‘landscapes’ provide the context  for Maria’s analysis.

This paper is part of a broader ESRC funded project, , and will be published in the journal Legal Studies.
