果冻影院 Laws launches double degree with The University of Hong Kong

From 2016, students can apply to undertake a double degree, earning a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from 果冻影院 and from The University of Hong Kong (HKU)

Under the new programme structure, students will spend two years studying at 果冻影院 and two years at HKU.

, Vice Dean (Education) for 果冻影院 Laws said this is an innovative offering for students that reflects the Faculty鈥檚 learning and teaching objectives: 鈥淪tudents will benefit from a broader appreciation of law in context. Furthermore, the programme presents students with a great opportunity for intellectual and personal development as global citizens. 鈥

Dean of 果冻影院 Laws, Professor 顿补尘别听聽said this was a further step in the Faculty of Laws鈥 ongoing commitment to 果冻影院鈥檚 international strategy: 鈥淚鈥檓 delighted that we are able to partner with HKU and offer our students a unique opportunity to engage with different cultures and regional perspectives, whilst developing an understanding of two distinct jurisdictions.鈥

果冻影院 Laws already has a strong connection with HKU, delivering an聽聽on the Rule of Law with Peking University, which is made possible by the generosity of the Vinson and Cissy Chu Charitable Foundation and 果冻影院 Laws alumnus Winston Ka-Sun Chu.

顿补尘别听Nicola Brewer,聽Vice-Provost (International), said the continuing relationship would assist 果冻影院 in realising the Global Engagement Strategy: 鈥淭his programme strengthens the relationship between our institutions, each in the heart of world-leading business and legal centres. 果冻影院 is developing partnerships across China and we are pleased that 果冻影院 Laws is deepening our relationships through this dual degree with HKU.鈥

To be considered for a place on the double degree programme, applicants must fulfil the relevant entry requirements for each institution. The first intake of students will commence the double degree in 2016, pending accreditation for the degree.
