If you are interested in taking a CLIE language module in 2024-2025听then you should apply on Portico for the most appropriate CLIE language module, using information in the 果冻影院 module catalogue, the CLIE Language Modules 2023-2024听module handbook and the CLIE Language Modules syllabi.
Registration for modules in 2024-2025 is now open for CONTINUING 果冻影院 students
In order to take a CLIE language module you need to BOTH complete the听CLIE online application form听and AND have the CLIE language module as one of your module selections on Portico.
If you studied听a language as a module at the CLIE in 2023-2024听and will continue with the same language in 2024-2025: provided you are not expecting to study the language over the summer then听you will be allocated to the next language level up 15/30 credit module. If this is at CLIE language level 7 then the appropriate module options will be shown to you. Your module selection will then be approved on Portico (after amending if necessary).
If you did not study听the language as a module at the CLIE in 2023-2024, or if you studied听the language over the summer: you will need to have an online interview with a CLIE language tutor to determine the most appropriate module. You will select a date/time for your interview when you complete the CLIE online application form if slots are available at the time you complete the form. Interviews take place (on Microsoft Teams), from early-June 2024听to mid-July 2024听and then again from 9听September 2024. In the in between period a CLIE Language Module Tutor will contact you to arrange an interview, subject to their availabilty.听Your module selection will then be approved on Portico (after we have amended the module if it is incorrect).
In order to have your CLIE language module approved by the CLIE on Portico then you must have completed the听CLIE online application form.
Provided you have the module selected on Portico and you complete the CLIE online application form (and have an interview if required) before 27听September听2024听then you will almost certainly be able to take a CLIE language module; we offer most languages at seven levels and timetabling conflicts that are unresolvable are very rare.

You also need to complete听a CLIE online application form; if you know you are permitted to take a CLIE language module then you can complete this first, otherwise you can do this after you have selected the most appropriate CLIE language module on Portico.听

Class times and the online timetable
Classes are听scheduled听around the听availability of the students registered for each module,听using information on the 果冻影院 Online Timetable. We will start听scheduling听classes in August 2024听once the main module registration period for continuing students has听finished.听
The schedule will be provisional听and听there may be changes to some groups, and new groups may be created;听classes should听be confirmed by 23听September 2024听or shortly thereafter.
You may need to change group in Term 2 if there is a clash, and when necessary听CLIE language classes change time in Term 2 to accommodate different student schedules - this is normally done in November.
Classes听start听in the week beginning听Monday 07听October 2024听(果冻影院 week 7).
Intercollegiate students
