The pilot – running until 30 March 2021 – will test whether the HRA can establish a sustainable model for providing rapid research ethics review.

It will test the process for global clinical and phase 1 trials for any disease area, and builds on work to provide fast-track ethics review for Covid-19 research.

The pilot aims to provide a final opinion on applications within 15 calendar days, excluding the time for applicants to respond to any requests for further information after initial review.
