JRO sends urgent reminders to prescribers on IMP studies

4 April 2019

The JRO have today contacted all prescribers on studies involving investigational medical products (IMPs) at ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH with 2 urgent reminders in relation to Epic, ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH’s electronic health record system:

·ÌýThe Floorwalkers are only scheduled to be on-site for 2 weeks from the Epic go-live date of 31 March 2019. Please use this opportunity to ‘advance prescribe’ your research INFUSION prescriptions using the in-patient hyperspace with the ‘sign and hold’ function. This will also allow everyone to become familiar with this process, test any glitches, and have items ready in good time for the patient.

·ÌýWhen prescribing for research patients in a clinical trial, please remember to ‘research associate your patient’ before prescribing and then associate the trial Px to the research study on each corresponding prescription. Without this, Pharmacy at ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH have been unable to match subject allocation IDs to the correct medications within the study.

Anyone with queries is asked to contact Chi Chung, Principal Pharmacist – R&D(chiyee.chung@nhs.net) or the JRO EPIC support Centre (¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH ext. 75554).
