Large meetings and large teaching events

If you are planning to teach a large online class or host a meeting for more than 500 people, you may need a Zoom large meeting licence.

Changes to Zoom licensing for staff from 3 July 2024

From 3 July 2024 newly created Zoom accounts for staff will beÌýunlicencedÌýby default. Staff accounts that haven't hosted a meeting between January and 3 July 2024 will have been de-licensed. If you are unsure if you have a licence, you can use these instructions to check if your Zoom account is licensed.Ìý

There are no changes to Zoom licences for students.

If you do need to request a Zoom large meeting license, please fill in theÌý.ÌýYou will need to provide the following information:

  • date of your event
  • email address for the event host (so that the license can be applied to their account)
  • how many participants you are expecting
  • whether it is a one-off or recurring event; and
  • the end date for the last meeting if a recurring event.
