Educational achievement at age 16, the end of statutory full-time education in England, is key to young people鈥檚 future educational, economic, social and health outcomes.听
In this event,听Steve Strand will analyse data听from听the Second Longitudinal Study of Young People in England (LSYPE2), which is the most up-to-date nationally representative dataset with comprehensive measures of all three dimensions of the achievement gap.听
He will talk about the importance of looking at data intersectionally, since everyone has a race, sex and class background, meaning we don鈥檛 hold any of these characteristics in isolation.听
This event will be particularly useful for researchers, policy makers and听teachers.

His听research interests are in the associations of ethnicity, social class, gender and other pupil characteristics with a wide range of educational outcomes at all stages of schooling.
