Change and Digital Committee: Terms of Reference

Information regarding the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Change and Digital Committee's formal powers and responsibilities.

Subject to any general or particular direction that may from time to time be given by the University Management Committee (UMC), the Change and Digital Committee is charged by UMC:

  1. To maintain a Single Portfolio of Change and Digital Investment, ensuring continued alignment with ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s overarching strategy; 

  2. To provide an appropriate governance framework to effectively oversee ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s investment in change, improvement and digital infrastructure;

  3. To ensure that investment in change and digital infrastructure connects to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº strategy and priorities;

  4. To consider and recommend to UMC the annual Change and Digital Investment Portfolio;

  5. To direct and balance investment in change and digital infrastructure at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº;

  6. To approve the initiation of the most significant new technology initiatives;

  7. To approve delivery plans for programmes and projects defined in ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s Major Projects Portfolio;

  8. To understand and account for the delivery of benefits of the investment portfolio (annually to UMC), from sign off in business case through to realisation;

  9. To ensure the effective coordination and integration of products and services across ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº in ways which achieve good value and provide effective services for the institution;

  10. To provide focus on the student and staff experience at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, ensuring that services and digital experiences are optimised;

  11. To govern Information Security (Cyber) and Data Protection risks, setting the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº risk appetite, monitoring policy compliance and intervening when needed, and sponsoring the Cyber improvement agenda;

  12. To serve as an escalation point for major operational risks or service issues with input from the Service Delivery Board (SDB);

  13. To refer matters to the UMC or other committees as appropriate;

  14. To recommend major decisions relating to the Single Portfolio of Change to the UMC.
