New funding opens for academics working with global colleagues

The Global Engagement Office (GEO) has launched the Global Engagement Funds 2016/17 to support collaborations in other countries.
The Global Engagement Office (GEO) has today launched the Global Engagement Funds 2016/17, a funding scheme supporting ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº academics to develop collaborations with colleagues based in other countries.
Led by faculty Vice Deans (International) and Pro-Vice-Provosts (Regional), the scheme offers up to £2,000 to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº academics - from lecturers to professors - to drive forward the objectives of the Global Engagement Strategy.
From , last year’s funding assisted 75 ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº academics from across all 11 faculties to develop partnerships with international colleagues at 93 different institutions, based in 34 countries across the globe.
Rachel Corcoran, GEO Programme Manager, said: "The Global Engagement Funds are encouraging innovative collaborations across ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº to deliver global impact. We'd encourage all academics with an interest in developing or strengthening their partnerships in different countries to apply."
Applications for the funds close on 28 October 2016.
