Globally leading research into neurological diseases听
Neurological conditions听鈥 such as听Alzheimer鈥檚,听Huntington鈥檚, Parkinson鈥檚, multiple sclerosis, stroke and acquired brain injury听鈥撎齛re the leading cause of death and disability globally. These conditions have a devastating impact on the lives of millions of people around the world, as well as on their families and loved ones.听
果冻影院 has worked at the frontiers of brain science for more than three decades, nurturing one of the largest groups of neuroscience experts in the world. It has been painstaking, slow, and at times disheartening work. But thanks to the sustained efforts of our extraordinary community and the partners who have joined us along the way, and technological leaps forward, there is hope.
Join us as we听find cures for some of the most intractable diseases affecting humanity today
鈥鈥淭his is the beginning of the end for dementia. We have no other choice: we can, will and must find treatments. We will look back at today and see this as the start of a change.鈥澨-听Professor Nick Fox, Co-Chair of the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre, Director of the 果冻影院 Dementia Research Centre
鈥淭he chance to be a part of the larger fight for better treatment and a cure has helped me fight my own battle. The power of this experience comes from both the cause and the support I received from the team. The clinical and support team here are exceptionally knowledgeable, accessible, competent and caring. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in the cutting edge research being done at the centre.鈥澨-听Elizabeth, an experimental trial patient at the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre living with Parkinson鈥檚 disease
A new home for 21st-century neuroscience
To truly transform the landscape for patients, we need to transform how we work. We are planning a new facility at the core of London鈥檚 unique health ecosystem. This will give us the best environment to support research at the scale and pace we need to find cures for this urgent global health challenge.
Built to translate fundamental research into cures, faster and at scale, our new centre will bring clinicians, researchers, industry partners and patients together under one roof in one of the world's most exciting research environments, underpinned by visionary philanthropy.
Inside the flagship centre
- Over 500 researchers from a range of听disciplines working across听six floors
- Cutting-edge research labs, teaching facilities and collaborative workspaces
- A new headquarters for the UK Dementia Research Institute and its largest research group
- Specialised patient care and clinical services
- Outpatient facilities and public spaces that put patients at ease
