Led by Professor in Urban Geography Professor Ayona Datta, the  project aims to examine how regional urbanisation is both a cause and consequence of the information revolution in the global south.

The team will research regional futures in Mumbai, Nairobi and Guadalajara on the themes of digitalising state, information infrastructures and territorial politics.

It is a chance to understand more about how regional urbanisation can be driven by the digitalisation of governance on the outer edges of major cities.

The students will work alongside Professor Datta and the research team in this exciting interdisciplinary project, putting together workshops, carrying out original research and conducting in-person fieldwork.

The Studentships, lasting for three years and starting at £22,278 per annum, are ideal for those interested in urban and regional studies, especially with research experience in India, Kenya and Mexico.

The project is part of the Global Urbanisms research cluster and will be based at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s Bloomsbury campus.
