果冻影院鈥檚 annual Inclusion Awards night took place on Wednesday 13 July 2022 and saw a large number of 果冻影院 staff and students celebrating the fantastic equality, diversity and inclusion work taking place across 果冻影院.
The Inclusion Awards are a way of highlighting people who are making a difference to equity, diversity and inclusion at 果冻影院, and a chance to recognise what our staff and students have achieved over the academic year.
Award recipients were honoured at the ceremony, with awards presented by President and & Provost Professor Michael Spence, Femi Otitoju from Challenge Consultancy, Michael Sulu, Race Envoy, Noel Caliste, LGBTQ+ Envoy, Sara Mole, Gender Envoy and Teresa Williams, Acting Head of EDI (Operations).
The awards were sponsored by Femi Otitoju from Challenge Consultancy and Sir Stephen Wall, former Chair of 果冻影院 Council. The event was hosted by Aloma Onyemah, Director of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. It celebrated the achievements of approximately 70 nominated colleagues, teams, and students from across the institution. Winners were announced in seven categories.
- 1. Provost鈥檚听Award听for Embedding Equality,听Diversity听and Inclusion
This award recognises an individual鈥檚 or team鈥檚 effort to embed EDI into mainstream work through their approach and undertaking of all tasks, be it day-to-day tasks or larger projects.

- 2.听Sarah Guise Award for Catalyst for Change
This听award recognises a person or a team doing things differently by incorporating EDI values into the way they work resulting in a positive shift in 果冻影院 culture.

This award recognises an individual or team鈥檚 effort to champion LGBTQ+ inclusion into mainstream work, delivering a more inclusive experience for LGBTQ+ staff and students.

- 5. Departmental Award for EDI Excellence
Two commendations were made for groups of staff for good work in their departments:
The Bartlett Promise Team:
Sarah Rolph (Bartlett Faculty Office) and Dr Emmanuel Osuteye (Development Planning) were commended for their work on the Sub-Saharan Africa Master鈥檚 Scholarship.
The following colleagues from Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies were commended for their work around creating a more inclusive learning community in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic:听

- 7. The EDI Team Award for Inspirational Engagement
The EDI Team chose to honour a member of staff, on their retirement, who has contributed exceptionally to EDI, influencing senior staff and advancing outcomes for EDI communities.
Award recipient:
Anson Mackay, Department of Geography, Faculty of Social &听Historical SciencesThe EDI team members who have had the privilege to work with Anson consider him to be a fantastic role model, always working with passion and commitment. He has been at 果冻影院 for many years and his contribution has been prolific both at an institutional and departmental level. It was wonderful to present Anson with this award at an in-person ceremony, where he received a standing ovation for his contributions to EDI work at 果冻影院.听
