Prospective Students

At undergraduate level, we offerÌýBSc Economics (L100), BSc Economics with a Year Abroad (L101)Ìýand BSc Economics with a Placement Year (L102) (suspendedÌýfor 2024 and 2025 entry).

Our undergraduate programmes are grounded in research-based education,Ìýinformed byÌýthe outstanding research of our economics professorsÌýand our Centre for Teaching and Learning Economics (CTaLE) which is at the forefront of new, innovative techniques to teach economics which are directly reflected in the Department’s teaching.

At ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Economics, we’re looking for students who are curious about economics and how it applies to the wider world around them. Graduates from our programmes are prepared to ask the right questions and find the answers by yourself, equipping you for a range of careers and further study in Economics.

You'll automatically joinÌýthe official Department society when you become a ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Economics student. They take an active role in organising both academic and social events and conferences. Past speakers includeÌýMark Carney,ÌýLars Peter Hansen and Vicky Price. .

The Economic Tribune logo
The Economic Tribune is the official ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Economics Magazine. With every aspect of writing, editing and design carried out by students, it is a reflection of innovative excellence fostered by the University’sÌýEconomics Department. Originally named the Drayton Tribune, our magazine was founded by two enthusiastic economists (Pablo Pena Corrales and Dennis Dinkelmeyer) at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year. Our team is committed to providing a forum for students to discuss ideas as well as providing the widr ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº community with a window into cutting edge economic research.
