¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Eastman hosts In2STEM programme

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Eastman welcomed a group of enthusiastic students from schools in London and the surrounding area as part of the In2Stem initiative. During the one-week programme, aspiring scientists had the opportunity to learn about, and experience, the life of dental professionals.

In addition to attending lectures on a host of subjects including prosthodontics, periodontology, aesthetic dentistry, oral surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery, the students got hands-on with practical sessions including surgical suturing, scanning, 3D printing, wire bending and many other activities allied to present day, and future dental care.

The programme was led by the Prof Dave Spratt (Professor of Oral Microbiology and Head of Education) and Victoria Hoskins (Clinical Investigation & Skills Manager), alongside the Eastman's team of nurses, hygienists, research support staff, technicians and clinicians.

In2STEM (formerly the In2science summer programme) is programme for 16-19-year-olds (Year 12 or S5/S6) who are passionate about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). In2STEM exists to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and boost diversity and inclusion in the Higher Education sector.
