Medicine and Clinical Trials

This unit represents the clinical academic collaboration between the EAR Institute and the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospital (RNENTEDH). We provide all aspects of ENT clinical academic research spanning Otology and Audiology including cochlear implantation, Laryngology and soft robotics, Rhinology and Post COVID smell restoration, Audio vestibular Medicine and Paediatric ENT surgery as well as co-ordinate ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº medical school teaching.

ÌýThe RNENTEDH which is part of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Hospital (¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH) represents the busiest ENT hospital in England and performs more ENT surgeries per year than any other hospital in England with a very strong ENT paediatric output. As a result, we are in a privileged position to enable our translational research with BRC support. We also lead on national ENT initiatives based on our clinical outcome research. ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºH has played a major role in the post COVID NHSE recovery programme and we represent national leaders in the Long COVID programme including the management of Long COVID Anosmia.
