A futuristic view of an underwater city

Coral reefs sustain 30% of all ocean species, and their degradation represents a stark reminder of the climate crisis. However, all is not lost, with positive cases of direct human intervention developing hopeful conservation stories. With the deployment of man-made structures in the sea, corals are starting to re-establish themselves in damaged sites, enabling the return of coral polyps and fish species.

Join creative facilitator Rosie Fuller and use paper models to create your own underwater structures, inspired by those being used in the Pacific, before re-populating them with returning species through creative materials provided.

This workshop is part of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Museums & Cultural Programmes 2024-25 event series Architecting Futures, bringing together art, culture and research.
