Supporting a Collaborative Economy: Work with ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº to solve your organisational challenges

13 August 2024

Are you facing complex organisational challenges that would benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration? We are offering organisations a unique opportunity to work with ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students to facilitate creative problem-solving.

How do you address issues and solve problems involving diverse groups of stakeholders where there is a high degree of disagreement and multiple possible solutions? What happens when colleagues disagree, and how can you disagree professionally and in ways that lead to mutual benefit and learning for the different communities involved?ÌýÌý

At ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, we are keen to explore ‘disagreeing well’ and hold space for people with different voices, views and experiences to work together - a key consideration for the modern workplace. Our new Collaborative Economy Module, part of the Creative Arts and Humanities BA at the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº East School for the Creative and Cultural Industries, offers an exciting opportunity for organisations to explore innovative problem-solving and knowledge exchange with ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students, in an inclusive and constructive environment.ÌýÌý

This module is designed for students to gain practical experience by helping organisations articulate and address complex challenges through open dialogue, diverse perspectives, and creative solutions.

How will we work together?Ìý

Starting in January 2025, your organisation will be invited to work with students from ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's Creative Arts and Humanities undergraduate programme, a bold, interdisciplinary degree that is the first of its kind in the UK. Ìý

Our students will organise a Collaborative Economy event at our ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº East campus, where interested parties and stakeholders will have the opportunity to explore a complex problem facing their organisation.Ìý

Through dynamic, collaborative sessions and activities, the event aims to facilitate interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and provide the time and space needed to explore meaningful and innovative solutions to these challenges.ÌýÌý

Our dedicated students will bring energy, creativity and fresh perspectives that will support your organisation to develop novel approaches and ways of thinking. In turn, students will gain practical industry experience, learning how different organisations operate and how to apply scholarship to real-world challenges.ÌýÌý

Timeline

  1. January 2025: Initial briefing on the problem or the issue (1-3 people from your organisation)Ìý
  2. Crafting of the event invitation: Working with your organisation to consider who should participate in this eventÌý
  3. March 2025: Main collaborative event in March involving chosen colleagues and/or stakeholders Ìý
  4. Final reflections: An evaluation will be completed by students and organisations following the event
