Published in 2017, this听report, written by Constitution Unit Deputy Director Professor听Alan Renwick and published jointly by the Constitution Unit and the 果冻影院 European Institute, set听out how the process of Brexit might听unfold.听 It begins by providing an overview of the negotiations, including what form any deal might have taken, whether the time available for reaching a deal could have been extended, and whether the UK could, if it wanted to,听revoke the triggering of Article 50.听 It then examines the possible roles and behaviours of each of the key actors in turn.听 It argues that it would have been very听difficult for the government to deliver the ambitious package set out by Theresa May in her Lancaster House speech on 17 January 2017 within the two-year timeframe that she envisaged. The report identified听several possible other ways in which the Brexit process might have听resolved itself.
