Technical Visit

Technical visits will take place on Thursday 04 July.

In addition to the workshop, any registered participant can choose one from them. All the visits are free, but each participants needs to pay the transport costs to the venue by themselves.

VTS Control Centre
DescriptionPort of London's Vessel Traffic Control Centre manages movements of ships on River Thames, including commuter and tourist boat services as well as cargo ships. River public transport is an negected area with much potential, and this visit gives interested researchers some food for thought. (Capacity: 20)

We will take 13:20 Southeastern Highspeed service from St Pancras station, arriving at Gravesend at 13:43.

Ìý2. London Transport Musem, Private Tour

Description

This guided private tour gives an opportunity to see the exhibition of London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. (Capacity: 10 for each session)

It will be the same place as Reception, but tour guides will explain each exhibited item and many stories of London's public transport systems.

Time

There will be 2 sessions. 10:00 - 11:00, and 14:00 - 15:00. You can choose one that suits you.

Location

A 5 minute walk from (Piccadilly Line).

It is also walkable from Leicester Square (Northern Line), Temple (District&Circle Line) and Charing Cross (Southeastern railways).

Ìý3. London Transport Museum, Acton Depot

Description

London Transport Museum has a Museum Depot in Action. It hosts the majority of the museum's collections which are not on display in the main museum in Covent Garden. This visit gives an opportunity to learn the history of London's transport systems. (Capacity: 30 for each session).

Description

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº owns a pedestrian laboratory where you can test people movements in simulated environments. This tour gives an opportunity to visit this. (Capacity: 10)
