Research Fellow in modelling and optimisation of CO2 transport systems
The Research Fellow will be responsible for developing, testing, and validating mathematical models aimed at optimising the design, operation, and monitoring of multimodal CO2 transport networks, including pipelines, ships, and trains, as well as associated CO2 conditioning systems within the CCTUS chain. They will be expected to document these models comprehensively, providing detailed explanations of the key equations, major assumptions, and numerical algorithms used.
In addition to model development, the Research Fellow will prepare and present research findings for review and contribute to the drafting and submission of manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals. They will also prepare progress reports for funding bodies and assist in the preparation of research proposals.
Salary is fixed at 拢42,099 per annum inclusive of London allowance.
The duration of this post is 12 months in the first instance.

Next-generation electrolytes for aluminium-based batteries
The 果冻影院 Department of Chemical Engineering () is internationally renowned for its exceptional research and high quality of teaching. In addition to a wide range of educational programmes to undergraduate and postgraduate students, the Chemical Engineering Department also hosts a rich portfolio of research addressing global challenges in manufacturing, materials, sustainability, health and energy. The student will be primarily based at the new 果冻影院 East Campus, hosting cutting-edge research facilities set in cross-disciplinary hubs. As part of the Advanced Propulsion Lab (APL), the student will have access to equipment and expertise spanning electrochemical engineering, chemistry, materials science and mechanical engineering in a truly collaborative environment.
The applicant will be required to undertake practical laboratory work, process and analyse data, self-lead day-to-day activities, update on progress through reports and presentations, write scientific articles and present at national and international conferences. The post is fully funded (stipend and UK fees) for 3.5 years, commencing 1st February 2025. Overseas students may apply, provided they can independently cover the difference between UK and overseas tuition fees.
