Xiaoqing is a green snake spirit who has practiced for five hundred years.

Suzhen is a white snake spirit who has practiced for a thousand years.

Both snake spirits, captivated by the human world, decide to emulate humans, venturing into the mortal realm together as sisters.

Suzhen's transformation into a human is a means to her ultimate goal of practice, seeking the benefits and values of human life. She falls in love with an ordinary man named Xu Xian, marries him, and enjoys a blissful life.

Xiaoqing, however, is drawn solely to the pleasures of being human. She falls for the handsome monk Fahai, and in her eyes, his monastic robes seem almost transparent.

During the Dragon Boat Festival, Suzhen's true form is revealed after drinking realgar wine, setting off a series of events including stealing magical herbs from an immortal mountain, Suzhen's heartbreak, and Xiaoqing's departure from home. The final act, "The Flooding of Jinshan Temple," is not just an entanglement of passion, but also the moment that seals the fates of the green and white snake spirits, marking the dawn of their destinies.
