Duties and Responsibilities

Situated within the Bartlett Faculty of 果冻影院 (which is ranked in the top 1% of higher education institutions globally, 3rd in the UK), the Institute of Sustainable Resources is part of the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) and provides expert interdisciplinary knowledge. collaborative research and teaching across a wide range of energy and environmental challenges.

The post combines work on energy, climate change, and finance related to UK and international environmental issue, and the role holder will provide a variety of research support tasks with Prof Michael Grubb & Dr Nadia Ameli, including (a) varied assistance on international research and engagement including the Economics of Energy Innovation and System Transition programme; b) the WIND project funded by the UK Energy Research Centre, and c) broader support to Prof Grubb鈥檚 academic profile and communications for these and related projects, all as indicated in the Job Description.

Responsibilities would include assistance with 果冻影院-led research outputs from the EEIST project and co-ordination with the EEIST Indian 鈥楥ommunity of Practice鈥 meetings, and monitoring consortium communications; Data manipulation and analysis involving large datasets (e.g. Bloomberg New Energy Finance, OECD/IEA data) for the WIND project; Assistance with data and information gathering and interpretation for 鈥榥et zero鈥 strategies in the EU, and assistance with co-ordination and synthesis with similar studies for China and the USA, as well as wider research assistant roles.

The post is available from 01 Jan 2022 and is funded for 0.6 FTE (21.9 hours per week) for 12 months in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available.

Key Requirements

The post holder will have a postgraduate degree in social sciences, economics or energy studies and to have successfully completed quantitative and/or qualitative research projects or dissertation in a relevant field. 聽Essential skills would include ability to research and extrapolate information using the internet and databases; good computing skills, including MS office packages and databases; good communication skills, both written and verbal; and excellent writing and editing skills, for use within a wide variety of copy types and purposes.
