Application Process

1. Choose your programme

We have elevenÌýpostgraduateÌýdegrees.ÌýExplore our programme pagesÌýto find the best choice for you.

2. Check entry requirements

You can check entry requirements for each programme on the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº prospectus pages.

3. Check application deadlines

You can check application deadlines for each programme on theÌý¹û¶³Ó°Ôº prospectus pages.ÌýPlease note that deadlines are not the same across all programmes andÌýmay be different for differentÌýmodes of study. ApplicationÌýdeadlines are final and we are unable to offer exceptions.

4. Submit your application online

Postgraduate applications are made directly to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº. Click on the blueÌýÌýbutton on your chosen programme'sÌý¹û¶³Ó°Ôº prospectus pageÌýto complete your application. We do not conduct interviews.

5. Await a decision

You can follow the progress of your application via the . An email will be sent to you telling you how to log on to the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Applicants Portal after you have submitted your form.Ìý

We will aim to send you a decision within 8 weeks, however at certain points in the year the decision may take longer due to the high volume of applications we receive.ÌýPlease note that we cannot begin to process your application until we have received your two references.Ìý

Can I attend an open day?

Yes, we will be advertising our next virtual open day on our website soon. Please check back soon.

Can I apply for more than one programme?

Yes, you can apply for more than one of our programmes at the same time but can only accept one offer from us. Please note that you will be required to pay the application fee for each application.

My application has been unsuccessful, can I apply for feedback?

Unfortunately, due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to offer feedback.

My application has been unsuccessful, can I appeal the decision?

Decisions on the admission of applicants are final and there is normally no right of appeal.

Complaints relating to an applicant for admission will be considered if there is substantive evidence of irregularity in the procedure under which the application has been processed.ÌýComplaints should be addressed toÌýbartlett.pgclerk@ucl.ac.uk.Ìý

I've received a conditional offer, what's next?

Your offer will stipulate the evidence of qualifications and English proficiency that we require from you and the deadline for you to send them to us.Ìý

I've received an unconditonal offer, what's next?

Congratulations! We hope you are looking forward to joining us. You will be sent an email towards the end of August inviting you to start the online enrolment process. In the meantime, you may wish to visit our dedicatedÌý'PostgraduateÌýoffer holders'ÌýpageÌýto find out all you need to know about your studies before September.Ìý

I can't come this year after all, can I defer my offer?

Please email your request to defer to your Programme Administrator, whose contact details are listed on the programme page. Please include your student number,Ìýfull name and programme of study.ÌýYour request will need to be approved by the Admissions Tutor. You will receive confirmation of this via email.Ìý

Can I change my mode of study?

Please email your request to change your mode of study to your Programme Administrator, whose contact details are listed on the programme page. Please include your student number, full name and programme of study.

Please note that the application deadline for full-time study may be before the part-time or modular/flexible deadline. We cannot approve requests to change from part-time or modular/flexible to full-time after the full-time deadline has passed.

What is the difference between a postgraduate diploma and an MSc?

A postgraduateÌýdiplomaÌýconsists of 120 credits of taught modules, whereas an MSc consists of 180 credits of taught modules, including a 60 credit dissertation or project.

What is the difference between theÌýpart-time and modular/flexible modes of study?

Students enrolled on the modular/flexible mode of study have between 2 and 5 years to complete the programme and can choose to register on as many or as few modules as they wish each year. The part-time route must be completed within 2 years and is only available for those applying for a student loan. Please note that your programme may have prerequisite modules which you are required to take before others.Ìý

TuitionÌýfees are also calculated differently. Modular/flexible students will pay on a modular basis. Part-time students will pay half of the full fee each year.
