The Bartlett is proud to announce the launch of ourÌýRace and Spatial Justice Recruitment Focus, welcoming diverse thinkers, researchers, and teachers from across the world to come and work with us. Our mission is to create a world-leading hub of scholarship and practice that actively addresses the interrelations of race, space, and the built environment.

“We've identified a scholarly gap that is affecting our ability to fully understand and undo the effects ofÌýraceÌýand racism in the built environment. TheÌýRaceÌýand Spatial Justice Recruitment Focus is part of a drive to plug this gap and reorientate us to creating racially just spaces.

AtÌýTheÌýBartlett, we are committed to fostering scholarship on race and spatial justice, articulating the effects of race on spaces, and taking steps to undo the harm of racism through our educational offering, research activity, and fair representation in our staff and student community. The Race and Spatial Justice Recruitment Focus is essential to enable us to meet these commitments.

Through the Race and Spatial Justice Recruitment Focus, we will hire scholars whose work focuses on any areas related to race,Ìýspatial justice and the built environment. This mayÌýlieÌýwithinÌýcriticalÌýrace studies, Black feminisms, post colonialism, Indigenous studies, coloniality, decoloniality,Ìýor other disciplinary traditions.
