Winning submissions announced for Faculty Student Travel Awards 2021 scholarships

Submissions for The Bartlett鈥檚 annual Student Travel Award scholarships once again provide an intimate snapshot of global life during lockdown. #BartlettSpaces
The winning entries to The Bartlett鈥檚 annual Student Travel Awards scholarship have been announced, and include photos, short essays, videos and poems documenting experiences of Covid-19 lockdown from around the world.聽
This year, 18 people will receive a share of the scholarship fund, with entries from as far afield as Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Jakarta聽exploring themes of self and identity, gentrification, and unsustainability and consumption during lockdown.聽We'll be sharing all the winning submissions on our social media platforms over the coming weeks, so聽keep an eye on our , , and accounts, or follow聽.听听

鈥淪tudents鈥 submissions for this year鈥檚 Bartlett Travel Awards were very impressive. Successful applicants used an array of different media, from photo essays to abstract videos, to capture the essence of their local areas.聽
鈥淚t was really pleasing to receive such creative responses from the students at a time when international travel was widely restricted.鈥

The Bartlett Faculty Travel Awards and Scholarships was created to support Bartlett undergraduate students in undertaking independent travel to other countries. Owing to Covid-19 travel restrictions,聽students were once again encouraged to creatively document聽inspiration taken from聽their local area, and the ways in which they have seen or experienced their local areas differently as a result of the crisis, with particular focus on the natural world.
