Duties and Responsibilities

The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources has an exciting opportunity for a part time 0.4 FTE Centre Manager of the SEAHA Centre for Doctoral Training. This Centre, led by the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Institute for Sustainable Heritage is an 8-year joint venture that started in 2014 between ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, University of Oxford and University of Brighton that aims to establish an infrastructure to meet challenges set by the heritage sector, industry and government.

The Centre Manager acts as the first point of contact for the Centre and provides overall administrative support including coordination of activities with the partner institutions, building a student cohort, developing the profile of the Centre by managing and editing the website and social media platforms, writing publicity materials and organising student, network and partnership events.Ìý

The Centre is now in the final year of funding, with the Centre Manager leading on a new focus on increasing impact and legacy. The Centre Manager will work closely with the SEAHA Finance Officer who will manage all financial aspects of the Centre and the final grant reconciliation.

Post is funded through until 30 September 2022 in the first instance. Further funding to support the post may become available.


Key Requirements

Our ideal candidates must have experience of managing a research centre or consortium or equivalent transferable experience. They will have experience of communications: writing and editing including the expression of complex or technical material in lay terminology.

This is a busy role, in a fast-paced environment, and the post holder is expected to be adaptable, quickly assimilate information and have strong use of initiative. The role requires interaction with many people both internal and external to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, therefore a professional attitude, willingness to help and ability to remain tactful and assertive are required in order to execute the duties outlined.Ìý
