As a full-time UK/EU student undertaking the MRes Science and Engineering in Arts, Heritage and Archaeology, you may be eligible for the CXD (Conservation By Design) Heritage Science scholarship.

The available funds (£20,000) will cover your fees. From the remaining funds, £3,000 will be allocated to fund your consumables and travel, with the rest being made available to you as a contribution towards your living costs.

There are three scholarships available. Each of the three awards will be worth £20,000 and one award will be available in each of the following academic years: 18/19, 19/20, and 20/21. The award is solely for the academic year for which you have applied.

Each award will be paid as follows:

•             £20,000 on or before 31st August 2018

•             £20,000 on or before 31st August 2019

•             £20,000 on or before 31st August 2020

Awards will be based on academic merit and you will be expected to undertake research projects in which you assess Conservation Products. A commitment to this will form part of the assessment criteria when making awards.

The deadline for applications is Friday 3rd August 2018.

How to apply

To apply, please email Josep Grau Bove attaching your CV and a statement of no more than 500 words arguing why you are a good candidate for the scholarship. The statement should additionally explain how the scholarship will help your career progression. You must have submitted an application for the MRes SEAHA at the time of applying for the scholarship.

The decision on the award will be based on the statement, your academic background, CV, and an interview with the course directors.

If successful, you will be informed by email and formal letter.

If you decide to defer when you begin the programme, the award cannot be transferred or delayed to a subsequent academic year. The scholarship may be kept open if there is a period of interruption in your studies due to unexpected personal circumstances.
