果冻影院 ISH participates at heritage conference in Montreal, Canada

Dr Kalliopi Fouseki, Director of the MSc in Sustainable Heritage at the 果冻影院 Institute for Sustainable Heritage (果冻影院 ISH), recently organised and chaired a substantive session at the recent conference of the which was held in Montreal, Canada from 3-8 June 2016. This biennial conference is the most prestigious international conference in heritage studies attracting more than 600 delegates.

Dr Fouseki鈥檚 two-day session which she chaired, was on the topic of 鈥楿rban Heritage: Critical Theoretical and Methodological Perspectives鈥. She collaborated with the (NIKU). NIKU is also a partner in the , an international group that is led by Dr Fouseki.

During the Critical Heritage Studies conference, a graduate Masters student from 果冻影院 ISH鈥檚 MSc Sustainable Heritage presented her research on 鈥楽ocial Sustainability in Heritage-led Regeneration: The case of Kings Cross Central in London.鈥 Her paper was selected as part of a highly competitive peer review process.

The fifth biennial conference of the Association for Critical Heritage Studies will be held in 2020 at 果冻影院.

Dr Kalliopi Fouseki said, 鈥淚 had the pleasure to organize and chair a successful two-day session on Critical Theoretical and Methodological Approaches to Urban Heritage at one of the largest international conferences on heritage studies. The session had contributors from across the globe providing a critical cross-cultural perspective to this topical issue and was very well attended on both days鈥.
