Duties and Responsibilities

The 果冻影院 Institute for Environmental Design & Engineering (果冻影院 IEDE) delivers world-leading research, teaching and enterprise towards a goal of making our buildings, towns and cities better places in which to live, with a focus on health, human well-being, productivity, energy use and climate change.听We are looking to appoint a research fellow to contribute to the delivery of the Horizon Europe project 鈥淗igh-Quality Data-Driven Services for a Digital Built Environment towards a Climate-Neutral Building Stock鈥 (DigiBUILD). The Research Fellow will be working together with other group members and project partners to design and implement software components to support the information management processes and data flows of the project.听The research fellow will oversee 果冻影院鈥檚 contributions towards developing a data space for building stock data on a federated and enriched data lake. They will support information collection in the demonstration sites. The research fellow is expected to work closely with other members of the project towards the extracting requirements that can lead to the design of the DigiBUILD overall software architecture.听This post is available immediately and is funded for 12 months in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available.

Key Requirements

The preferred candidate will be expected to have solid knowledge in either Building and District Information Modelling, or Energy Modelling (e.g. using white-box modelling tools like EnergyPlus or Modelica), or both. They are expected to have excellent programming or scripting skills and the ability to publish and document code and write reports. It is desirable that they have prior experience working in international multi-partner and multi-disciplinary projects.
