We’re seeking a talented Lecturer in Building Physics and Soundscape to play a key role supporting our Sustainable Built Environments, Energy and Resources BSc and MEng dual degree programme.
Duties and Responsibilities
The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching) in Building Physics and Soundscape to play a key role in our current and future research and teaching programmes, especially to support our new dual degree programme: Sustainable Built Environments, Energy and Resources BSc and MEng.
The successful candidate will be expected to serve a 5-year term as a Year 1 Director with responsibility to develop research and teaching ethics protocols for this programme.
Key Requirements
Experience of research-based teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level including preparation of course guides, lecture and seminars, setting of assessments and development of interdisciplinary teaching material. Ambition to grow both as a teacher and as an effective developer and manager of educational programmes.
A demonstrable capacity to deliver robust teaching, research and a desire to support higher degree student research. Research topics:
- Sustainable and healthy cities
- Data driven analysis and qualitative analysis
- Evaluation of acoustic quality and soundscape in buildings and cities
- Sound propagation and sound field in buildings and cities
- Data driven analysis and qualitative analysis
- Integration and interaction of acoustics and sustainability
