The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering (IEDE) delivers world-leading research, teaching and enterprise in the field of the built environment. Their mission is to generate and exchange knowledge in the sustainable development of buildings and the urban environment and to train the future leaders in the field.

IEDE is seeking to appointÌýtwo Research Fellows in System Dynamics.

Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow: Complex Urban Systems for Sustainability and Health – System Dynamics

The post holder will work with the existing team and stakeholders to develop, design and deliver a body of high quality research into the complex system that relates to ‘urban sustainability and health’. Execute qualitative and quantitative system dynamics modelling and adapt and develop existing methodologies.

Funding is available until the 31 January 2022 in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available.

Key Requirements

The post holder will have a PhD, or be near to completion, in a relevant subject area (social science, humanities, engineering, science) or have commensurate research experience. An emerging reputation as an independent researcher in a relevant field and evidence of completed research which has been published, and a strong publication record in high quality publications is essential.

The post holder will have knowledge of system dynamics modelling, qualitative research and participatory engagement or participatory modelling.

Research Fellow: Community Water Management for a Liveable London (CAMELLIA) – System DynamicsÌý

The post holder will work with the existing team to develop, design and deliver a body of high quality research into the complex system that relates to water management in London. Apply qualitative and quantitative system dynamics modelling and adapt and develop existing SD methodologies for this context.Ìý

This full time position is funded for 3 years in the first instance, however, working on a part time basis can be considered for a minimum of 24.09 hours per week (0.66 FTE). If the appointment is made on a part-time basis, the funding period will be extended accordingly to the FTE or up to a maximum of 4.5 years pro-rata.
