Institute awarded historic third Platform Grant

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº BSEER has been awarded a historic third Platform Grant by the EPSRC.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) is delighted to announce the successful renewal of .

This grant, theÌýthird of its kind won by theÌýCBES group, representsÌýthe onlyÌýcurrentÌýPlatform Grant given in the Built EnvironmentÌýarea, and only one of twoÌýcurrentlyÌýheldÌýby a department at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº. There are just 52ÌýPlatform Grants in the whole country.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº BSEER consists of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s Energy Institute, Institute for Sustainable Resources, Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering, and the Institute for Sustainable HeritageÌýall of which are part of the CBES Platform Grant.

Platform grants support established UK groups considered to be world leading in their fields. They are a flexible mechanism of providing underpinning funding to well established, world leading research groups.

With the grant, BSEER and partners aim to develop a new strategic programme of research aimed at informing the scientific understanding of the systemic nature of a sustainable built environment. The grant will support retention and career development of key staff members through bridging between projects and by funding concept development project work. The grant also allows BSEER to build knowledge exchange through industry fellowships, collaborative projects and internships for platform staff.
