The Bartlett awarded 拢2.25 million for project on Climate Resilience in East Africa

Dr Jordana鈥疪amalho and Dr Pascale Hofmann from The Bartlett Development Planning Unit (DPU) alongside Prof. Priti Parikh and Dr Margarita Garfias Royo from The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction (BSSC) have been awarded 拢2.25 million by UKRI.
The award under鈥� funding call is听granted for the听project entitled鈥�楲isten, Learn & Leap: Co-producing Equitable and Sustainable Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Climate Resilience in East African Cities鈥�.听
The project is a three-year action research collaboration between DPU,听BSSC, Kounkuey听Design Initiative听(KDI)听in Kenya, Ardhi University听and鈥痶he Centre for Community Initiatives听(CCI)听in Tanzania, and ICLEI Africa. 听
The research project will explore听the听socio-political听factors that support the uptake, sustainability, and institutionalisation听of NbS in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam听with a particular focus on centring the perspectives and interests of young people, and especially adolescent women and girls in听informal settlements, in the design and management of localised NbS.
